Story behind this artwork:
This oil painting was created on Sept. 11th at an event called "Luminous Portraiture - From Dark to Light" to showcase the idea of bringing light out of darkness using a technique of coating the canvas with a dark tone first and then wiping away the paint to create light areas so that the face begins to emerge from the canvas. Her headdress of golden coins in contrast to the dark ground and dark hair give a striking depth to her visage.
Your print comes with a 1" white border with hand-signature at the right bottom and print edition number out of 250 along with a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
